Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1.What does “P.R.O.” stand for?

P.R.O. stands for Positive Reinforcement Only. This means we exclusively use reward-based training methods to teach dogs new skills and correct behaviors. We never use prong collars, e-collars, leash pops, intimidation, or fear-based corrections. Positive reinforcement builds trust, confidence, and lifelong learning habits.

2. What ages are your programs for?

  • P.R.O. Puppy Program: 8–24 weeks

  • P.R.O. Teen Program: 6 months–2 years

  • P.R.O. Adult Program: 2+ years

  • P.R.O. Rehab Program: Dogs of any age with behavioral challenges

Each program is carefully tailored to the developmental stage, temperament, and needs of your dog, so they get the most effective learning experience possible.

3. How long are the programs?

  • Puppy Program: 2–3 weeks

  • Teen Program: 3–4 weeks

  • Adult Program: 3–4 weeks

  • Rehab Program: 4–8 weeks

Program length is designed to give your dog enough time to learn, practice, and build confidence, while giving you the tools to maintain results at home.

4. Will my dog stay at your facility full-time?

Yes. All of our programs are board-and-train, meaning your dog will live with a professional trainer in a structured, nurturing, home-like environment. This ensures consistency, routine, and proper socialization.

Your dog’s safety, comfort, and emotional wellbeing are our top priorities, and every day is planned to balance training, enrichment, socialization, play, and rest.

5. Do you use prong collars, e-collars, or any aversive tools?

No. We are 100% positive reinforcement only. Our methods are science-based, fear-free, and humane, focusing on teaching your dog what to do rather than punishing unwanted behaviors. This approach strengthens your dog’s confidence, trust, and willingness to learn.

6. What happens after the program ends?

You don’t just leave with a trained dog—you get lifetime support. This includes:

  • Step-by-step guidance for maintaining skills at home

  • Troubleshooting for behaviors that may arise later

  • Ongoing access to advice from our trainers

  • Personalized coaching if needed

Once your dog joins a P.R.O. program, you become part of our training family for life.

7. How will I stay involved during the program?

We provide daily updates, including photos and videos, so you can see your dog’s progress. Some programs may also include live calls or check-ins to review your dog’s development, celebrate milestones, and answer questions.

This ensures you are connected to your dog’s learning journey from start to finish.

8. Is socialization included?

Yes. Socialization is tailored to age and temperament.

  • Puppies learn early social skills

  • Teens practice manners around distractions

  • Adults build confidence and calmness in new situations

  • Rehab dogs get controlled, positive exposure to triggers

All socialization is safe, structured, and reward-based.

9. What if my dog has behavior challenges?

Our P.R.O. Rehab Program is designed for dogs with:

  • Anxiety or fear-based behaviors

  • Reactivity toward dogs, people, or environments

  • Aggression or resource guarding

  • Confidence or coping challenges

Behavior plans are customized, progressive, and focused on long-term success. We never use punishment or intimidation, and every step is based on trust, communication, and positive reinforcement.

11. Do you offer training for first-time dog owners?

Absolutely. All programs include guidance for families, from first-time puppy parents to experienced owners, focusing on:

  • Understanding canine behavior

  • Building strong bonds and communication

  • Practical skills for daily life with your dog

  • How to reinforce training safely and effectively at home

12. How quickly will my dog learn?

Learning pace varies based on your dog’s age, temperament, and previous experiences. Puppies may pick up commands quickly, while teens, adults, or rehab dogs may need more repetition, confidence-building, or behavior modification.

We focus on consistent, gradual, positive learning, ensuring results are long-lasting and stress-free.

13. What makes your programs different from other training options?

Positive reinforcement only: no fear or force

  • Science-based methods proven to work for lasting results

  • Lifetime support after graduation

  • Structured, nurturing home-like environment

  • Programs for puppies, teens, adults, and behavior rehab

Trainers who are everyday dog lovers, not “people in suits”—muddy shoes, treats in pockets, and all.

14. What should I bring or prepare for my dog?

Your Case Worker will provide guidance, but generally, bring:

  • Your dog’s favorite food or treats

  • Comfort items (blanket, toy, or bed)

  • Vaccination and medical records

  • Notes on behavior, routines, and personality traits

We ensure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved from day one.

15. How do you handle medical needs?

Our trainers are experienced in routine care and handling medical needs. We follow your dog’s veterinarian recommendations, administer medication if needed, and provide regular monitoring. Safety and health are always a priority.

16. Can you work with reactive or aggressive dogs safely?

Yes. Our Rehab Program is designed for dogs with aggression or reactivity. Every behavior modification plan is customized and strictly reward-based. We carefully control environments, exposures, and interactions to maximize safety for your dog, our staff, and other dogs.

17. How long do results last?

When training is consistent, positive, and reinforced at home, results are long-lasting. All graduates of P.R.O. programs receive:

  • Training tools and guidance for maintaining skills

  • Lifetime support from our trainers

We teach families to become confident, capable trainers for their dogs for life

18. Can my dog socialize with other dogs during training?

19. Do you provide follow-up support?

Yes. Lifetime support is included with all programs. Whether your dog is 8 weeks old or 8 years old, you can reach out for:

  • Behavior troubleshooting

  • Training reinforcement

20. How do I get started?

The first step is a call with a P.R.O. Certified Case Worker. We’ll evaluate your dog, discuss your goals, and recommend the perfect program. Once enrolled, we provide guidance, updates, and a nurturing training experience from day one.
